So....I made it round! I've never done something where Ive had so much fun and gone through so much pain in such a short space of time!!
I loved every minute of the Lodnon marathon, although my legs wanted to give up at mile 20 so I had to just drag myself round the last part of the course & grin and bear the pain!
My final time was 4hrs and 55 seconds (11,859 overall / 1,957th female / 75th in my age group)
It was my first marathon and I'd definitely do it again. I was running for such a great cause, Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice to raise money to help continue with their vital work. I was running in memory of my year 1 school teacher, who suddenly discovered she had cancer and the hopsice really looked after her and her family in her last few months before she sadly passed away in 1992.
Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice support over 100 patients and carers, free of charge either in their own homes, in the community or at the Hospice. However, it costs £10,000 a day to keep the hospice open!!
So, if you could spare change to say well done for my ‘marathon’ run it would a real help to Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice! Thanks SO SO much for all of your support - from good luck to well done messages and all the generous donations, its been so great! Thanks.
