Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Hey all,
This is probably the first time I have asked most of you for money (with a few unlucky exceptions) so please don't dismiss it too quickly! I am taking part in the Everest Challenge, snowboarding 150km in 48hrs, in aid of Snow Camp, a charity very close to my heart.
Snow-Camp is an innovative youth charity that uses a unique combination of skiing, snowboarding and life-skills programmes to support inner-city young people.
Through the combination of snowsports and life-skills, our programmes enable young people to grow in confidence and self esteem, develop as individuals and make positive choices for their lives.
I know I'm not waxing my arse, god knows it needs it, or running 12 marathons in 12 days but, with my OAP level of fitness, this should prove a hefty challenge.
I know you're not all snowsport lovers but if you think of the thing you love the most and how you'd love to be able to use it to help less privileged people then you'll know where I'm coming from. It isn't curing cancer but it is hopefully giving some kids, who haven't got much else, a positive outlook on life, new experiences, and the confidence to go on and make something of their life.
Thanks for reading and if you think it's a good cause please give anything you can afford. If you don't think it's a good cause then please give anything you can afford and we need never speak again...I jest.
Anything you can do will be massively appreciated and I'll keep you updated with everything it goes towards.
Cheers everyone, take care.
Rob
