My story

Hello potential elves,

Allow you to introduce myself. I am Father Christmas – or Saint Nicholas – the patron saint of gift giving (in the true version of the story). I’m talking to you across the world wide web to ask you to think about giving a gift to a great cause – Mencap. It does not need to be a big gift – anything you can afford will help them to support 1,000’s of people with a learning disability in so many ways – from housing, employment opportunities to learning new life skills or by defending their everyday human rights. In fact, Mencap and I need YOUR spirit of altruism all year round, but it is especially poignant at Christmas. I represent the true spirit of Christmas that you do not give to receive. In honour of my tradition of giving selflessly to others, I ask you to do the same here.

I bet you are thinking – of all these wannabe Santa’s why should I give to this one? Well it’s simple really. I’m the most genuine – I even come in the original green. So more of your donation will go to the cause and not to the marketing department’s pockets. I demonstrate real good value for money too – I’m not just pretending to be jolly, I AM jolly! All the time and not just at Christmas. Lastly, I’ll even save you money – when I come to deliver your presents on Christmas Day I won’t need a mince pie, I simply don’t like them. 

If you need anymore convincing, I have been given special powers. Not just the ability to travel faster than any man has travelled before, delivering hugely expensive presents for free and being able to enter any room without breaking the locks or windows. No, a special wish granting ability.

Now you’re listening! The wish that I would grant is that there was no need for Mencap anymore. That we could fulfil the dream that everyone with a learning disability was given the same opportunities as everyone else with the choices that we all take for granted.

Remember before you click on the donate button this is a really worthy cause, it’s Christmas and lastly, Father Christmas is only real to the people who believe he is real.

Please give generously

St. Nick

I am only one of a number of  Santa ‘Wannabees’. If you would like to see who my competitors are this year you can visit their links below. But please PLEASE don’t vote for them, VOTE FOR ME – after all, you don’t want to risk being put you onto my ‘naughty children’ list do you?!
