Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. We, (Robbie Jones and Martin Wells) will be climbing Kilimanjaro in February 2008 to raise funds for the Rhodri Jones Memorial Appeal which feeds the Bone Cancer Research Trust. We are being sponsored by the best pharmaceutical company in the world, Astrazeneca UK, and will be going to Tanzania with eleven others including a number of local G.P.'s so that hopefully we should be ok for a bit of first aid to help us reach the top of the mountain! I (Robbie) was Rhodri's rugby coach so this is a very personal fundraising event. Like so many others, we were devastated when young sportsman, Rhodri Jones, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma and died just eight months later aged twenty. Rhodri was a real fun character with a great big smile and a personality to match. Read his story on the following link and you will understand why it so important that we raise funds for research into primary bone cancer and do everything we can to improve the outcomes for children who are diagnosed with this cruel disease. http://www.bonecancerresearch.org.uk/Stories_rhodrijones.shtml Please take five minutes to look at the Bone Cancer Research Trust website to appreciate the work of this charity in researching this rare type of cancer that is most prevalent in children and teenagers. http://www.bonecancerresearch.org.uk/index.shtml All sponsorship will go directly to the charity! Many thanks for your support. Diolch yn fawr i chi gyd am eich cefnogaeth. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Bone Cancer Research Trust will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.
