Story
Hi, Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
As you most probably now know I have committted myself to shedding much blood, sweat & tears for the Evelina Children’s Hospital Appeal in aid to fund a new intensive care incubator for the Neonatal intensive care unit. To fund this vital piece of equipment, I will need to raise at least £19,000 (It costs this much for just one machine).
The Evelina children’s
hospital is part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London and
provides everything from routine care and minor surgery through to life saving
treatment and intensive care for over 100,000 children every year. The
hospital is currently campaigning to raise £1 Million to purchase vital
equipment.
The Matron for neonatal
medicine at the Trust, Claire Alexander said: "We are very grateful for Rob’s
superhuman efforts. We really hope everyone rises to the challenge and
supports him all the way”
“Last year we treated 7,000
premature babies born at Guy’s and St Thomas’ and this new *incubator will help
keep a number of them warm after their early arrival and give them the best
possible start in life."
*Intensive Care Incubators
are clear, enclosed cots that control the baby's body temperature and protect
them from infection. The incubators have hand-sized holes to allow health care staff
to gain access to the baby.

1) February 2010: Norway For my 1st Challenge, I am heading out to Northern Norway where I will be participating in a week long 200km Husky expedition that will take me into the depths of the Arctic Circle… I have been warned that the temperature can reach as low as minus 30 2) April 2010: London The Virgin London Marathon - 26 miles... “Marathon” being the operative word. This will require a great deal of training and determination. 3/4) August / September 2010: Scotland / Wales In preparation for my final challenge, I will be testing my stamina by braving 2 of the highest mountains in Britain; Ben Nevis and Snowdon. 5) November 2010: Tanzania - Africa Finally my last challenge will be to climb a small hill, 6000 Metre high Kilimanjaro to be precise… A 7-day epic of a hike to the summit will prove to be my most difficult challenge both mentally and physically.
