We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

This year l will be competing in the Ironman challenge for the second year running and hopefully upping the tempo. The fundraising will be donated to the Alzheimer's Society. They do amazing work by providing support to the sufferers, the families involved as well as the continued research which is carried out to combat the disease. I have personal experience of the Alzheimer’s Society as Dad suffered for a few years before passing away last year. We were all helped as a family during tough times and I fell it is appropriate to give back as a method of gratitude to the society.

The Ironman Wales challenge will take place on the 14th of September 2014 and consists of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and to finish the triathlon complete a Marathon 26.2 mile run. I would like to knock a bit off my time this year compared to last year so the challenge is set. By competing in this challenge, regarded as one of the toughest in the world, I want to inspire you to both contribute and perhaps have a go of things yourselves in the future. As if I can do it, so can you!

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
