ShelterBox work to ensure that vulnerable families around the world have life-saving emergency shelter, and other essential tools and aid items, after disaster strikes. Be it an earthquake, flood, conflict or hurricane, we are there for those most in need.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I have spent over a year in the Philippines and have come to know and love the country and the beautiful, kind people that live there. It has been of great sadness to see the devastation that Typhoon Haiyan has caused over great swathes of the country.

Current media reports suggest that hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced, their homes completed destroyed by the 200mph winds (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-24887746).

When working in the Philippines I met volunteer workers from Shelterbox, a charity that provides temporary accommodation to people who suffer from the many natural disasters that effect people in the country. No doubt Shelterbox will be extremely busy over the coming days, trying to provide shelter to as many people as it can. That's why I want to support them.

If you, your family and friends can spare a bit of money this will go into the fight to give some safety, hygiene and comfort to many of the people suffering in the Philippines at the moment. Thank you so much for anything you can give.
