London Marathon 2018 · 22 April 2018 ·

Every day 250 people in the UK start losing their sight. With your help, we can be there when people need us most, support independent living, create an inclusive society and prevent avoidable sight loss. Every pound you raise will help create a future where sight loss is no longer a barrier.

Story

5 years ago Rob (Stuz) was diagnosed with a degenerative genetic condition affecting his vision, Retinitis Pigmentosa. Once digesting the initial shock of the news, Rob set about finding his birth relatives for the first time on medical advice that led him to the West coast of Ireland and the discovery of a whole new family. Its been a gilt edged cloud.

Nearly 2 years after meeting, Rob's cousin Emer has kindly offered to run with Rob to provide him with the inevitably much needed nursing assistance throughout the marathon! Additionally the RNIB has become a cause that is close to Rob's heart since being diagnosed and his wonderful new cousin is equally committed to the cause of fundraising for a brilliant charity that supports the less fortunate in their everyday lives.

The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) is the UK’s leading charity supporting blind and partially sighted people. The RNIB offer practical and emotional support to those that need them, so they can continue living life to the full.

Please dig deep as we have a monster target and a lot (!) of painful hours of training....!
