BUPA Great North Run 2008 · 5 October 2008 ·

Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

UPDATE:

Well I did it! 2 hours 3 mins and 33 seconds and was placed 15061 out of 37123 finishers!

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

On October the 5th 2008 I will be running the BUPA Great North Run. It is my first ever half marathon (13.1 miles) and for those of you who know me this is 12 miles longer than any distance I have run before, so wish me luck.

The money is being raised for the Multiple Sclerosis Society who support families and individuals suffering from MS

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is the most common disabling neurological condition affecting young adults. Around 85,000 people in the UK have MS. For those who don’t know MS is the result of damage to myelin - a protective sheath surrounding nerve fibres of the central nervous system. When myelin is damaged, this interferes with messages between the brain and other parts of the body.

My uncle has suffered with MS for most of his life and this is my way of saying thanks for being a great uncle even though he is unwell.

For some people, MS is characterised by periods of relapse and remission while for others it has a progressive pattern. For everyone, it makes life unpredictable.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: MS Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So if my maths is correct for every £1 thats an extra 28p!!

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
