In September I am returning to India with a small group of friends to hike a further section of the Himalayas. We were last in India in 2005, where we hiked a trail along the border between India and Pakistan. This year we are hiking a 150 mile route in the Himachal Pradesh State, from Dharamsala through to the Dhaula Dahr Mountains.

Our 11 day hike starts at Dharamsala and will follow historic mountain trails through the green forest slopes of the Kangra Valley up to the snow capped mountains of the Dhaula Dahr range. We will be sleeping under canvas, which if you know me, is not my preferred style of accommodation!

We are seeking sponsorship to help us raise £11,000 for St Nicholas Hospice,a charity which operates in West Suffolk and the Thetford area, providing practical, medical and spiritual support to local people and their families living with an illness that is life threatening; such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, heart or lung disease. The Hospice’s care is given free to all patients and their families, and to do this they need to raise £11,000 a day. The Hospice receives no funding from the Government so relies on fund-raising and donations in order to operate.
