Dystonia UK is the only UK wide organisation driven to ensure that the 100,000 people across the country with dystonia have access to crucial information support and essential treatment. We exist to give hope and support to those living with Dystonia creating UK and worldwide awareness.

Story

Earlier this year Jane, my wife, started complaining of pain in her arm when she started to write. The pain got worse and she ended up unable to write at all, as you can imagine this is a massively debilitating condition and removes something you take for granted day to day. The condition is known as a 'Focal Dystonia' and is a neurological movement disorder. It causes involuntary muscle contractions which lead the affected parts of the body to develop abnormal movements or postures, with or without tremor. There are estimated to be 40,000 people living with dystonia in the , which makes it even more amazing that there is no known cure for the condition. For more information please visit the charities website on http://www.dystonia.org.uk/index.html

So on behalf of myself and The Dystonia Society, thankyou for your kind generosity,

Robin
