My story

THANK YOU to those who supported the work of the Foundation earlier this year. If you missed out, here's another opportunity!  If you have 'charity fatigue', I understand, but why not forward to select friends?!

Win 2 tickets to Manchester United vs Sunderland (6th Dec)

If you donate in UK, you'll be put into a lucky draw for a chance to WIN 2 tickets to Manchester United vs Sunderland (Sat 6th Dec). For those overseas, there will be a chance to win a ball signed by memebers of the first team.

Sahara Race (26th Oct - 1st Nov 2008) - latest news

Rob finished at the Giza Pyramids in Cairo on Saturday 1st Nov, completing his 3rd desert in 31 hrs and 20 mins, finishing 4th overall.

You can still contribute to the MU Foundation until the end of November!!

The Sahara Race is a 258km, six day, self-supported footrace across the white desert in Egypt. Participants cover the equivalent of just under a marathon a day for the first 4 days, then 100km on day 5 (the 'long day'...), finishing with a short run to the Pyramids at Giza on the last day. The course will be flater and temperatures much hotter than the Gobi and Atacama races, with more sand and dunes. It is one of the '4Deserts' , a series organised by Racing The Planet (Gobi, Atacama, Sahara and Antarctica).

Since the Atacama Crossing in March, Rob competed with a team in the 100km Trailwalker UK in July, but otherwise has done little due to an ankle injury. The aim for the Sahara Race is to finish and raise money and awareness for the MU Foundation.

How you can support the work of Manchester United Foundation

Read about the Foundations' work by clicking on the link below. If you would then like to support us the easiest way is to donate on-line at the bottom of the page.

Manchester United Foundation was formed in June 2006 to celebrate 50 years of the Club playing in Europe. The Foundation uses the passion for Manchester United to benefit communities and improve the lives of young people through: educational programmes, promoting a greater understanding of social issues through education and by developing unique partnerships with like-minded organisations.

You can follow his progress, and email him by going to the racingtheplanet website www.4deserts.com/sahararace

For more information about the work of the Foundation and charity partners go to www.mufoundation.org

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor Rob. Manchester United Foundation will also receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. You can donate from anywhere in the world using a recognised credit card.
