Hello and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

One in four of us will face a battle with cancer in our lifetime. Just take a moment to think about that terrifying statistic. That's far more scary that anything we will face on our ghost hunting adventure. Please read on and then dig deep and donate whatever you can afford.

My name is Rob Kirkup, a keen ghost hunter and author based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Between now and the end of 2011 my team and I will be investigating ten of the most terrifying locations in Europe's most haunted city - York.

Rob, Tom, Rich, Andy and John will be carrying out ghost hunts in locations such as the Golden Fleece, the National Railway Museum, and Gray's Court. You can follow news on Rob's website, www.ghostsofthenortheast.co.uk and read the entire story in a book which will chronicle the entire journey which is guaranteed to contain scares galore and the occasional hilarious anecdote. The book will be released in mid 2012 with the working title of 'Paranormal York: Investigated!'

What's more, if you donate you could win a prize! I've already carried out a draw to win tickets to some of York's top tourist attractions, and there is going to be another draw when the book is published to win a copy signed by myself and the other members of the spook seeking team.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks from myself, the team, and Cancer Research UK. Let's make a difference.
