Birmingham Focus on Blindness - A Walk in the Park · 11 July 2009 ·

Every day 29,000 people in Birmingham live with sight loss. We support people with visual impairments and other disabilities, together with their carers, to live fulfilling and independent lives by providing services that reflect their wants and needs.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

On the 11th July 2009 I completed the  "Walk in the Park" at Woodgate Valley Country Park, Birmingham.  I  walked the 5k which is not a great distance until you realise I did it blindfolded!

I am aiming to raise a fantastic £1000 (I have already recieved £100 before this page was set up) so please help me smash my target.  So far I have recieved £890.00.  I want to thank you all for your support.  The weather was mixed but we were fortunate to to miss out on the heavy rain which occured that evening.  There were about 40 walkers and as expected I was the slowest.

In the photo is my long suffering PA, Max who guided me into every puddle and through a couple of brambles for good measure.

Focus Birmingham provide services and support throughout Birmingham for blind and partially sighted children and adults as well as specialist support for muti disabled adults.

The money will be spent wisely and locally  and if you haven't done so yet please sponsor me.

best wishes and thanks

Rob
