BUPA Great North Run 2009 · 20 September 2009 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

This year I am running the Great North Run. This is a big one!

The Great North Run is the biggest half-marathon in the world, with 52000 runners taking part this year. This will be my second half-marathon (having completed the Cardiff Half last year), but, none-the-less, this is a big challenge. So, having asked you to all kindly sponsor my first 10k run, 2 years ago, I though that it was time to ask you all to dig deep again to raise some money for a worthy charity.

Sponsorship from this event will go to the Alzheimer's Society. As some of you may know, Lea's mum has Alzheimer's and this therefore has personal significance for us all. I hope that you will be able to support me in raising some funds for this very valuable cause.
