Story

Fibromyalgia is a pretty awful condition, drastically affecting the lives of sufferers.  Add to that the fact there is no known cure, and that is has only been recognised as a condition relatively recently and you see the problem.

The condition affects the muscles causing huge amounts of pain in the body.  On good days it’s agony.  On bad days it’s debilitating.  It also causes fatigue, and any number of other issues too unpleasant to describe.

My wife was diagnosed some years ago and life hasn’t been the same since – especially not good when you have just spent 4 years working hard to qualify as a nurse, and then you have to quit just before you start work because the illness makes it impossible.

As such, I’ve given up the chips and cake, shed 4 stone, forgotten what terms like 'lie-in', 'relaxing weekend' and 'my legs feel fine' mean and I’m going to do the Blenheim Triathlon on the 7th June 2008.  This is to raise money for Fibromyalgia Association UK to help fund research into the dreadful condition and help all those suffering in the UK.

So thanks for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.  Your donation will make a big difference.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Fibromyalgia Association UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
