Martin Currie - Rob Roy Challenge 2008 · 21 June 2008 ·

Martin Currie Charitable Foundation is run by staff of Edinburgh-based investment management business, Martin Currie. We support a number of good causes through charitable donations and volunteering. Our main fundraising event is the Martin Currie Rob Roy Challenge, held each year in June.

Story

A team of 5 has been plucked from the SLI Mild Weather Training Camp and asked to complete this challenge in a time that will not embarrass our company, the sponsors or the organisers. We said 'we'll see what we can do' and immediately retired to All Bar One to consider our training program. Many of the team are driven by the challenge and the chance to raise much needed sums for charity. Some, sadly, are motivated more by the feeling of lycra.

Nevertheless, please consider sponsoring us if you know, or even admire, any of the following people: Susan Goldrich (feel free to let out a wee cheer after each name), Pauline Scott, Keith Muir, Stuart MacArthur, Chris Haimendorf or even our intrepid Support Team - The MacCormick Family (Susan and Iain).

The Rob Roy Challenge takes place on Saturday 21st June and covers a 55 mile route from Drymen on Loch Lomond to Kenmore on Loch Tay. The contestants walk the first 16 miles then cycle the rest.

We appreciate that there have been many charitable demands made on you this year but any contribution would be greatly appreciated.
