I have known Mike Peters of The Alarm rock group for nearly 20 years, meeting on holiday in Majorca in 1990, since then I have supported Mike and The Alarm at many gigs and most of his annual Gatherings. It was a big shock when Mike became ill a fews years ago with Leukaemia, Mike survives his illness, but he did something positive and co-founded the charity "Love Hope & Strength". I myself have raised over £50,000 for CancerBackup (now part of MacMillan Support) after losing my wife to cancer in 2001 - by completeing 5 world wide treks, Kilimanjaro, Himalayas, Inca Trail, Great Wall of China & The Grand Canyon.
So it is important to me that I carry on raising funds for good causes, so I will be joining Mike and many others on 4th July 2009 to trek up Snowdon, when we arrive at the summit Mike will perform, a Rock Gig - hence Snowdon Rocks.
I have pledged to raise a minimum of £150,but hope to raise more, any shortfalls will be made from my own funds.
