Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2005 my dad passed away after a short battle with liver and bowel cancer. I was a hard time as it all happened so quickly, within the space of less than two months.
He spent the whole of Christmas and New Year in hospital, coming home on the 19th of January to a downstairs bed, a morphene feed, thrice daily visits from the district nurses and constant pain. He lay on his bed, curled up in a ball hardly moving, hour by hour, day by day getting worse, not talking, just making the odd noise as the pain grew worse.
It was awful to sit and watch him lay there, knowing there was not a thing I or my mum could do to help. Until on Monday the 24th January, the district nurse called for the doctor to come in that lunchtime, she gave us the news that he probably wouldn't last the day out. I went to get another morphene perscription, knowing it would almost certainly be the last and as I got back home, the district nurse arrived. It was 3pm and by 3.15pm he was gone.
