Story
Hi all,
I'm doing a parachute jump to raise money and as I am petrified of both planes and heights I really need your sponsorship to help me through this.
I am going to do the jump to raise money for the Medical Foundation, for the Care of Victims of Torture. These victims include men, women and children from countries such as Iran, Democratic Republic of Congo, Turkey, Somalia, Afghanistan, Sudan and Iraq who are now trying to cope with the pain and effects of torture and exile.
Torture has been described as the act of killing a person without their dying. It is an attempt to destroy a person’s physical and emotional integrity and leaves the person with lasting physical pain and psychological distress in the form of depression, anxiety, sleeplessness and nightmares.
The money raised will provide survivors of torture and their families with medical treatment, psychological, emotional and legal assistance which will give them back some quality of life.
To raise the money I am going to risk serious injury and death by jumping out of a plane from 10,000 feet at a speed of 200km per hour! I plan on jumping in September in Glasgow.
By sponsoring this event, you will be helping the Medical Foundation to change the lives of people who desperately need your help, so please donate! Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Medical Foundation For The Care Of Victims Of Torture gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
Thank you very much,
Robynne Struthers
