UPDATE!!*

Thanks to everyone who supported us - we made it!

Following a grueling big wave 1.5k swim, 40k bike ride and 10k run (with the biggest hill in the middle you ever saw - Jack came in at a great 2hrs32mins and Rocco at a first timer's 3hrs18mins!)

There was blood, sweat and tears - along with tales of skydiving 24 hours before, Jack breaking all his personal records and Rocco keeping closely behind the man (2 mins on the swim and 6 on the bike) - whilst managing to do the entire cycle leg with his back brake on (that is not an excuse ed.!)

Jack took the £50 quid in a form of a massage from Julie at the hotel - Rocco plans to take this back before Christmas!

A big thank you to EVERYONE who got behind us - including our team mates in LA - Mike, Charles and Kevin - along with Simon, Jordan, Asia, Janine, Tyler and head of cheerleading and leaping in the air - Vika! Thank you also to the Chateau Marmont and Keilana for taking care of us, as always.

Our biggest thanks goes to everyone who visited www.justgiving.com/roccoandjack and made a donation - we are really grateful and proud to have been able to represent Nordoff Robbins - we raised just over £3K which we'll be sending off to them at the end of the week (in case anyone else plans to visit the site now that we've finished!)

So why did this all start - it only seems fair that as there are two of us doing this that Jack gives you his side of the story also, here's mine...

Why did it all start?

I'm asking myself the same question! - well Brockway decided to bet me £50 that he'd kick my ass in the LA Olympic Triathlon - so I, being someone who likes a challenge - decided I would take my 4k, twice a week run, tied in with the odd pilates class - and train towards:

SWIM 1.5K (0.93miles)
CYCLE 40K (24.8 miles)
RUN 10K (6.8 miles)

Now, before you get worried - the training's being going well so far.... we're just under a month away, and provided we fly Virgin Upper Class (how's that for a plug?!) - there's a good chance Brockway will be watching my tush all the way to the finish line!!! - yee ha!!! - now, for his explanation.

"Sitting in the pub one glorious British afternoon, I noticed that my brother-from-another-mother (aka Roland/Rocco/roxstafairian) was looking a bit pale and un-fit... We were talking about a triathlon I was about to do and so I steered the conversation towards the fact that there was no way in hell that he could ever complete one (let alone beat me), in the hope that he would take up the challenge. This was about three months ago and since then the big man has been in the gym, in the pool and in the park, clad in lycra (yes, very skin tight and shiny), sweating his little socks off!!! I, on the other hand have broken a rib and am not looking half the athlete I was! That £50 is up for grabs....

Rocco has convinced me entirely (it wasn't hard) that this charity we are raising money for, is a spectacular cause. It really is worth donating every penny/cent you can.

Enjoy the spectacle that is Rocco and Jack and if you can join us in LA on the 7th September, please do as we will be celebrating my victory well into the morning.... ;-)"
