Rochester Cathedral is playing a leading role in the spiritual, cultural and economic regeneration of Medway and Thames Gateway. We strive to preserve the fabric of this ancient building, develop education and tourist facilities and maintain the centuries old musical tradition.

Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Your support is still needed as the work continues to raise money for this spectacular building. We have now completed our fundraising for the ancient Pinnacle and that restoration project has now been started. We would like to thank all who supported us with gifts for this project and to let you all know how grateful we are. The next project (and there are plenty!) is to raise £200,,000 for repairs to the Windows along the South side of the cathedral. Repairs are needed to cracked, distorted and flaking sections of glass and ferramenta (ironwork) caused by water penetration. The outer arch of one window is disintegrating and another loose window is in danger of blowing in. Water is compromising masonry above windows and needs restoration before stonework is lost. Within Rochester Cathedral Trust, work is underway into applying to a wide range of trusts and foundations for funding, but we need to find more donations to help us fill the gap. We hope to undertake the work next year and you will be able to see for yourself how this project has played its part in ensuring the survival of this special place and everything it stands for.

We hope you can support us! Thank you so much.

Dean of Rochester
