MONDAY 1ST OCTOBER, THE SPONSORED EVENTS BEGAN...ELI FASTED ALL DAY, SHARI HAS DONE SOME SPANGERLY SPONSORED CLEANING AND RYAN HAS BEEN TELLING ALL HIS FRIENDS ABOUT LUPUS. HE IS ALSO ARRANGING AN ASSEMBLY FOR US TO GO IN AND TELL HIS CLASS ABOUT THE EFFECTS OF LUPUS AND ALL THAT LUPUS UK IS DOING. BIBI, SHARI'S MUM HAS BEEN WEARING A PURPLE WIG TO WORK (SUPERCUTS, BRISTOL) AND HAS ALSO DECORATED HER WORK STATION IN PURPLE RIBBONS. ELI DID A SPONSORED SILENCE LAST SATURDAY, WHICH SHE DID NOT FIND EASY!!!

Lupus is a relatively unknown disease which affects around 50,000 people in the UK. It is a chronic and currently incurable illness of the immune system, a condition in which the body's defence mechanism begins to attack itself through an excess number of antibodies in the blood stream, causing inflammation and damage to the joints, muscles and other organs.
As many of you will know, this is a charity which is very relevant to Ryan and myself, and we'd really like to contribute to the fund which not only aims to fund further research into the causes of lupus, and towards a cure, but also supports individuals and families who have been affected by this disease.
Ryan's sister Shari was diganosed with Lupus in 2004. Shari is keen to spread awareness of Lupus and support those suffering and also charities and medical staff who are working towards a cure for the disease.
We aim to raise money through a number of events during october, which is the Lupus awarenes month. Eli has also pledged to cycle one mile for every pound we raise...so get giving!
