Hi every one.

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

For those of you who don’t  know, on 15th Dec 2007, our Sat Technician, Ian Cadman, lost his son Michael to a condition called sudden arrhythmia death syndrome (SAD’s) which was apparently caused by a throat virus that can cause sudden cardiac arrest in fit & healthy young people.

Michael died suddenly and without warning at the tender age of 17. He was a budding guitarist and was studying sound production at Perth College. It’s bad enough losing a member of your family but losing your own child and at such a young age must be absolutely traumatic.  Only 9 months have past so Ian, his wife Jessie and his daughter Jennifer must still be going through the worst time ever.

Because of this sad story there are eight of us, myself (John Meager), Stu Barclay, John Finn, Jason Barwick, Dave Green, Michael Ludgate, Matthew Cuff and Tom fergusson who have decided to raise money for the charity that is closest to Ian and his family's heart right now and it’s called “CRY” (Cardiac Risk in the Young)…
see opposite….

Seeing as though we are cycling freaks, we’ve decided to enter our selves in a race called “The Gran Fondo, Nove Colli 2009”
11,000 riders will be competing in the race that is 200 km long and takes us up and down 9 mountain passes of the Italian Alps. Not for the faint hearted I can tell you but it’s not until May 2009 so we have plenty of time to train.
Obviously, team SUBSEA 7 are not going over there just to make the numbers up…Oh no… We are aiming at coming 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th. Anything less than this will be deemed failure. (Joking of course. Some of us will be just happy to finish the race with our lungs in tact)

Whilst we are training for this race we would really appreciate it if you would sponsor us as much or as little as you can.

Donating through www.justgiving.com  is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Cardiac Risk in the Young gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thank you for your support.

John, Stu, John F, Jay, Dave, Mick, Cuffy and Tom!
