Thanks for visiting our fundraising page!
Seven of us from R.O.EYE are taking part in the Bupa Great Manchester 10km Run to raise money for R.O.EYE's chosen charity, Action Duchenne.
Action Duchenne helps to fund for gene therapies and new drugs, winning Government support for research and improving educational opportunities for those suffering with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Muscular dystrophy is a genetic (inherited) condition where slow, progressive, muscle wasting leads to increasing weakness and disability. Duchenne muscular dystrophy is the most common and most severe type, and is caused by a faulty gene that prevents the production of a protein called dystrophin. It usually affects boys (about one in 3,500), but it can occasionally affect girls as well. Duchenne muscular dystrophy causes progressive weakness in the muscles of the legs, leading to mobility (movement) problems in young children. Most children with the condition will require a wheelchair by the age of 11.
So please help us raise as much as possible to help Action Duchenne pioneer new research which will hopefully lead to a better quality of life for those suffering with Duchenne Muscular dystrophy.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Action Duchenne gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor us now!
Many thanks
R.O.EYE Team!
