Berlin Marathon 2009 · 20 September 2009 ·

The brain is the most complex organ in our body. It controls our emotions, senses and actions. So when it breaks down, we break down. We fund the best research to discover the causes, develop new treatments and improve the lives of those affected. Let’s unite to accelerate progress. Today.

Story

Thanks for dropping in to donate to the Brain Research Trust.

I ran the Berlin marathon on Sunday 20th September in 5 hours and 11 minutes. It was a great run, not my fastest time, but a very good day. Its a marvellous city and the spectators did a wonderful job cheering the runners around the course.

The BRT is trying to find cures for some horribly debilitating disorders of the brain. Please join me in helping to knock these killers on the head; Alzheimers, Parkinsons, Huntingtons, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone, brain tumours, epilepsy and stroke.

Donating through this site is easy and totally secure. JustGiving will send your money directly to the BRT and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed for every eligible donation by UK taxpayers. It's the most efficient way to donate as it saves time and keeps processing costs to a minimum for the BRT.

Many thanks for your support, especially if you have sponsored me before for running at Edinburgh, London, Chicago or Tokyo. I should warn you now that I plan to run again next year in New York if I make it through the entry process.
