Story
A little while ago Roger Harding threw himself off a tall building!
Well, not quite threw himself! There was a rope. Guy's Hospital Tower is, at 469 feet, one of the tallest abseil buildings in the UK. It's also the tallest hospital building in the world. At thirty three floors up it's higher than CentrePoint at Tottenham Court Road and the "Gherkin."
This was a unique opportunity for Roger to be afraid – be very afraid! Views of the city from the top of the building are, quite spectacular - towering over Tower bridge and dwarfing St Paul's Cathederal..
This was a fundraising stunt on 5th July. The money raised from the sponsored abseil will help Springboard for Children - the charity that helps kids who can't learn because they don't know how to learn. In fact these kids don't know that they don't know how to learn! Such children get left behind in the education system. Springboard helps them "learn how to learn" so that they can be slotted back into their appropriate year group and continue their education with their true peers instead of a younger age group.
