On 18 April, I will be leaving for the Canadian Arctic to trek 110 miles across the Penny Ice Cap on Baffin Island.  This may seem a little unusual, but perhaps "unusual" should be my middle name.  The trek will involve "man"-hauling my own sled, containing all the equipment and provisions necessary for a two-week trek, in temperatures that could reach -40degC!  And I am very excited (some would say mad)!  Fewer people have completed this expedition than have scaled Everest!!

After several other challenges, this will be my "swan-song" in terms of fund-raising (I am, after all, an OAP!) and I am hoping you will help me make it my most successful effort!  I particularly want to help Ovacome as a way of supporting my dear friend, Lizzie, who is battling this dreadful disease ... keep battling, Lizzie!
