I am running the Edinburgh Marathon on 31 May 2009 after completing 3 successful London Marathon runs in the past four years, and hoping for a time of under four hours, which I will be training hard to achieve.

More importantly I am hoping to raise at least £500 for the leading cancer charity Macmillan Cancer support, who are in the forefront of improving the lives of people affected by this devastating disease. My motivation is my wonderful parents, both of which we have lost to cancer - dad in September 2006 and mum in August 2008, both of whom I miss greatly. In addition both my Nanas passed away as a result of cancer and it would have been the birthday of one of them on the day of the Marathon.

The twenty six and a bit miles I will be running will as always be a challange,but with dedicated training I will achieve it. To raise the money to help people with cancer I need the help of all my family, friends, colleagues and social contacts. Please help me to surpass this total for such a worthy cause.
