Who am I raising money for and Why?

I am looking to raise £500 for Maggie's Centre which is is an innovative cancer charity that provides free emotional support and practical support to anyone who has, or who has had cancer.  The centres offer support for families, friends and carers.  You can find out more about Maggie’s at http://www.maggiescentres.org/maggies/maggiescentres/home/home.html

So what am I doing to raise money?

On the 13th September 2009 I am going to take part in Pedal for Scotland - a 50 mile bike ride from Glasgow to Edinburgh.  To the hardened distance cyclist that may not seem a lot but I can assure you I am not one of those - having only taken to cycling in January this year, the only thing that seems to have hardened is my...... well you can fill in the rest. I do feel however that I have improved from my first painful 5 miles on that freezing cold 4th January so watch out Lance Armstrong, here I come!
