Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

Alexander is now 4 months old and we are very grateful to the Down’s Syndrome Assocation for the support and information they have provided for us in recent months.  I am doing this 5K run (and I do intend on running all the way!) in order to give something back to the Assocation and I hope you will feel that you can sponsor me.

A donation of £5 allows the Down’s Syndrome Assocation to provide up to 30 minutes of telephone support, counselling or advice to anyone with questions or concerns.  I have rung the Association a few times now and have always been grateful to speak to a real human being who understood my questions and was able to help me with the answers.

A donation of £25 allows the Down's Syndrome Association to provide an hour of face to face support to a parent from one of its trained Information Officers on any aspect of living with Down's Syndrome.   Barry and I met with one of the Information Officers some months ago and were appreciative of the time he spent with us as we struggled to come to terms with Alexander’s diagnosis.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Down's Syndrome Association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me if you can.

Many thanks for your support.
