From the 24th April 2009 - 4th May 2009 i will be joining around 60 people trekking along 1 of the wonders of the world as part of Macmillans GREAT WALL OF CHINA HIKING CHALLENGE. We will walk an average of 7 hours each day to cover approx 80km during the week, putting up our own tents, re-packing our equipment and carrying a back pack, all on a daily basis.

The 11 day challenge will take us through the Yanshan Mountains, along the original and renovated parts of the Great Wall....and then The challenging 300 steps of Heavens Ladder!!!! This promises to be an extremely testing and physical challenge in remote and dramatic conditions where the upcoming months of preparation and training will be tough......BUT WORTH IT........what more can i ask for other than the obvious.....
