Aspire Channel Swim 2010 · 5 December 2010 ·

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

I will be swimming the distance of the Channel (22 miles) in my local pool to raise money for Aspire. The challenge runs between 13th September and 5th December, so there is 12 weeks to complete the distance.

I have also set myself a further challenge... I am aiming to swim back as well!

Aspire is a national charity providing practical support, funding and advice to people with spinal cord injuries in the UK and Ireland. Aspire has a range of practical projects including adapted accesible houses, specialist computer equipment, experienced advisors and grants to lead an independent and fulfilled life.

So please dig deep and help me raise as much money as possible for Aspire.
