Running 26 miles is the easy bit, now I need help from you!
I became aware of the condition Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) through a close friend who's father was recently diagnosed with the disease. Increasingly frustrated with how little support her family are getting to cope with the condition as it progresses, I decided to enter the marathon to fundraise for The PSP Association, raise awareness of this disease and ,on a personal level, to show support for my friend and her family.
PSP affects over 10,000 people in the UK but little is known of the causes and as yet there is no treatment and no cure. The disease gradually robs people of their ability to walk, talk, eat, drink and see. Patients remain mentally alert but become trapped in their own bodies and unable to communicate.
The PSP Association is a UK charity 'Working for a world free of PSP' and your donation will help the charity in fulfilling their three main objectives, which are to promote research, support patients affected by PSP and their families and provide information to raise awareness of PSP.
So please dig deep and donate whatever you can!
Also, as I will be plugged into my MP3 player throughout the training months ahead and on the big day, I would like to compile a playlist of tracks to keep me motivated. If you are able to donate (thank you in advance!) I would love it if you could suggest a song for me to add to the playlist. That way I can be constantly reminded of everyone's valuable support when I am out running.
Thanks so much for all your support, it really does mean a lot!
With love and best wishes,
Rosie
