Flora London Marathon 2009 · 26 April 2009 ·

Tom's Charity assists disadvantaged children and young people to achieve their potential and to lead rewarding lives by providing them with educational and vocational training opportunities which they would otherwise be unlikely to receive, and helps to tackle and prevent the root causes of violent gang culture and street crime.

Story

Ok... So I know it says London Marathon at the top of this page... but I'm not clever enough to work out how to change it!

Earlier this year I was all set to run the London Marathon but I developed achilles tendonitis and had to pull out just a week before the race. So many wonderful people had sponsored me and I was running for a cause that is close to my heart, so I have decided to run the New York Marathon (on Nov 1st 2009) and the next London Marathon (on April 25th 2010) instead. Hopefully I will finally be able to earn the money that's already been pledged and drum up a whole lot more!!

Tom ap Rhys Pryce was robbed of his mobile phone and Oyster card and then stabbed to death in January 2006 as he walked home from Kensal Green underground station to the home he shared with his fiancee, Adele. He was 31 years old. Tom's Trust was set up as a lasting memorial to him. It supports a number of very worthwhile projects that help tackle the root causes of gang culture and street violence.  Your support is really appreciated. The money that you donate will be used to ensure that as much good as possible comes out of Tom's tragic and senseless death.

 Thank you. Ros x
