Asics 10K London Run 2009 · 12 July 2009 ·

For over two decades, SOS has worked to create a safe future for wild orangutans and their rainforest home. We support our frontline partners in Sumatra to protect, connect and rewild forests, which are crucial for orangutans, other wildlife, and in the global fight against climate change.

Story

In a post London Marathon heat of the moment, we've decided to do a 10k run in London. Not only does your hard earned cash make us feel good, you'll also be saving lots of our ginger relatives.

Sumatran orangutans are critically endangered! Habitat loss and poaching are pushing them towards imminent extinction. Every minute, every day an area equal to six football fields of Indonesian forest disappears!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Sumatran Orangutan Society gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
