DELTA (Deaf Education through Listening and Talking)

DELTA believes that the vast majority of deaf children can learn to listen and talk and that all parents of deaf children should be given this option. It's aim is to promote the education of hearing imparied children through the use of their residual hearing capacity and through the development of a naturally spoken language.

My story

Firstly I'd like to thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

The picture on the left is of the beautiful Anna Holloway. Anna, aged 2, was born deaf and has since had an operation that enabled her to hear and to therefore speak. She beneifts from the wonderful work done by DELTA. DELTA are supporting Anna to learn to talk as they feel there is no reason why a childs deafness should prevent her living life to the full. Without their help this task would be left soley to her parents Jon and Carole.

Unfortunately due to illness I was unable to attempt this years race. I am now automaitcally entered into the 2010 marathon. My reason for running remains both personal and to be able to help children such as Anna, hopefully giving me added inspiration.
