RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

THIS EVENT HAS NOW BEEN COMPLETED AND THE ORIGINAL JUSTGIVING PAGE CLOSED. THIS PAGE HAS BEEN CREATED TO ALLOW DONATIONS TO BE MADE AFTER THE EVENT.

ROUND BRITAIN By Boat
is a 1600 mile challenge I am undertaking to raise money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). Being partially disabled as a result of a spinal trauma, my ability to pilot the boat is not matched by an ability to leap around the decks bringing in and putting out fenders. As a result, I have press ganged my wife Jo into being deckhand as well as galley slave for the trip.

We will be departing from Brixham marina in late spring and plan to complete the journey in 23 legs, visting 23 ports around the British coast en route.

Please visit our website at www.round-britain.co.uk for further details, and once the trip is underway, you will be able to monitor progress via the online blog.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: RNLI - Royal National Lifeboat Institution will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
