At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. We’ll face it all together – but we can’t do it without you. Visit www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: CLIC Sargent will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

I am donning my running shoes on 02/03/08 to run the Reading Half Marathon, to raise money for CLIC Sargent, a children’s cancer charity, who have been incredibly supportive to families who have children with cancer.  Especially three local families to me.

In way of showing my staunch support for these families, I wish to raise funds for this charity that has done so much, and help it to continue its invaluable work.  So that these families and others like them, going through this trauma, know that others  do notice and care when life gets tough.

You can have a good laugh on me,( I don’t mind), as you think of me pounding the tarmac in pursuit of a 'good time'!!!  I am just really happy that you want to support me and this cause by giving a donation, and thank you heartily.

22/01/08 : I have had some great coaching from a neighbour who runs regularly and have been out with her and other runners a few times now.  Each week I have had to up my game, so an 8 mile run is the target for this week!

Thank you all for your continued encouragement.  this is a huge undertaking for me but I have been so inspired by all your fantastic support that the pleasure definately outweighs the pain!

19/02/08  You really are all fantastic for sponsoring me and believing in me.  I have been training hard so as not to dissapoint!  On sunday I ran 11.5 miles with friends, without stopping at all, not even on the steepest or longest of the hills!  So feel my goal is now within reach with the running.  I thank you all again for your tremendous support to reach my  financial goal, which is within sight now too, so together we can make it happen and turn this crusade and adventure into a huge success. We are all part of it!
.

04/03/08  I did it!  Thanks for all your support.  I kept a fairly steady 12min / mile pace and finished with a time of 2hrs 40 mins.  All my training paid dividends and I managed to run the entire route as planned.  I had a fab time and hope I have done you all proud.

This site will continue to accept further donations if you can be generous enough to help me completely smash my target.  I spoke to CLIC staff at the run venue and they were thrilled to hear of our efforts for this cause.
