Lightwater Laike 2009 · 8 November 2009

Thank you for choosing to support Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA). As a charity YAA relies on the generosity of individuals & organisations to help save lives across Yorkshire. Thank you from the team YAA.

Story

Lightwater Laike is the annual Mountain Bike Event organised by the Rotary Club of Ripon Rowels.

This year fellow Rotarians and friends alike can take this unique opportunity to sponsor one of the event's founders, Rotarian David Lydall.

In addition to the money raised from entry fees and the optional sponsorship from each entrant, the athletic Mr. Lydall is hoping to raise just that bit extra for the most deserving of causes, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Over the years the effort that David has personally put into this event has made the difference and raised thousands of pounds for charity - help him round the course this year by donating here.

Many thanks on behalf of the Rotary Club of Ripon Rowels and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance

Also, my close friend David France died overnight (1942-2009) at home in Dewsbury.

David was a Chartered Accountant and had his own practice in Ossett.

In latter years he spent a lot of time in the Mediterranean on his catamaran.David was a competent sailor, and rock climber.

Always a joker he would be amused to see me suffer riding the mountain bike course at Lightwater.

I am really happy to raise donations in his commemoration as his family dedicated any donations at the funeral to the Yorks Air Ambulance.
