Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. This is for donations to Help for Heroes. If you would also like to donate to the charity The Army Benevolent Fund please follow this link.

At the start of June 2009 Nick Dennison and Hamish Reid shall set out on an attempt to become the first pair ever to row unsupported around Great Britain. They are doing this in order to raise money for Help for Heroes and the Army Benevolent Fund.

Help for Heroes was set up as a civilian initiate as a non-political charity with two main aims: to provide direct practical support to wounded service men and women, and to enhance support and awareness from the public for the armed forces. So far amongst other projects H4H has helped fund a purpose-built pool for the rehabilitation of service personnel at Headley court (£8m) and heavily supported Combat Stress which aid the healing of the psychological wounds of conflict.

During their one to two months at sea, Nick and Hamish will row two hours on, two hours off, twenty-four hours a day where conditions allow. They shall drink desalinated water and eat dehydrated rations. They shall battle high seas, submerged rocks, wrecks, sore derrieres and cling to their own sanity to complete their goal of becoming the first pair to row around Great Britain.

Check out their website:  www.rowforheroes.com

Please support the fantastic work of Help for Heroes by sponsoring Hamish and Nick to row around GB.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. Its also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Help for Heroes (H4Hs) gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
