We do, however, wish to raise much more. If when you visit the site you see that we are nearly at our target figure please do not log off but continue with your donation. We want to raise AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE but the website requires us to state a defined figure. Please help us to reach, better and go far beyond all of our targets! ROY, whose mother-in-law suffers from Alzheimer's Disease, knows first hand how this appalling condition devastates the lives of not only the sufferers but also all those who love and care for them. He was especially keen, therefore, to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society who undertake such valuable research into the disease and also provide much needed education and support to carers and families. MARK, not wanting to be out done by his younger brother, was also up for the challenge of pedalling 450 km to Paris for such a good cause. Healthy rivalry between the brothers for who will be riding in whose slip-stream should ensure a good result! Please note Roy and Mark are meeting all their own costs so all funds raised will go to the Alzheimer's Society. Please dig deep and help the boys to raise as much money as possible. UPDATE- MAY 2008 - Training is well underway with Roy and Mark entering the "Hampshire Hilly Hundred" which, as it says on the tin, is a hundred mile, up and down, 'not to be missed' experience. The boys thought it would be a useful interim challenge. However, Roy had not appreciated that he would be pedalling furiously on his birthday and that any birthday festivities would consist of carbo-loading and not much more!! I think on that day he may well be over the hill on more than one occasion!! It's sobering to think that in September the boys will have to repeat the same effort for a further three days.
