Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge · 22 June 2013

Yorkshire's Brain Tumour Charity funds innovative, world-class, Yorkshire-based research to find better treatments and ultimately a cure. Whilst we are waiting for a cure we ensure that people living with a brain tumour and their loved ones across Yorkshire receive the support they need.

Story

Myself, David Hotchkiss, Peter Lorriman and Sam Sayer are planning to tackle the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge (Pen-y-ghent, Ingleborough & Whernside) covering 23.3 miles in under 12 hours (AGAIN !) in order to this year raise money for BTRS (Brain Tumour Research & Support across Yorkshire) http://btrs.org.uk/

We are currently targeting 22 June for the attempt, weather permitting.

BTRS is our Charity of the Year, and is very close to our hearts at RPP. We have held a number of fund raising events including wear a hat day, Leeds half marathon, children’s mini-marathon as well as regular dress down days.

Nationally, less than 1% of all the funds raised for research into cancer is devoted to brain tumour research, yet brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of our children and more people under the age of 40 die from brain tumours than from any other cancer.
