RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

Dear All,
Thank you for visiting my sponsorship page. The photo is of me with some of the crew from my local Chiswick RNLI station, who operate between Battersea and Richmond. They saved 116 people in 2004, and you can learn more about them at www.chiswicklifeboat.org.uk

RNLI boat crews are made up of volunteers, who risk their lives saving the lives of others around the UK almost hourly. They rely heavily upon donations from the public to keep operating, with no government funding.

On April 17th I will be running the London Marathon to raise money for the RNLI. Please help me by sponsoring me here online. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: the RNLI will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Do visit the RNLI website at www.rnli.org.uk

Thank you very much.

Rupert.
