The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

Birth name: Rufus

Profile: As the grandfather of the group, Rumpole is remarkably experienced in all racing disciplines. He has achieved notable results throughout his racing career, but particularly in the New Forest Ferret Fleet and the Scottish Scurry where he triumphed convincingly over his competitors (including Egg). As age has taken hold though, Rumpole has developed arthritis in his front feet which has seen his form decline in recent meetings. This is his last race before retirement.

Race chances:  His skeletal troubles make him an unlikely winner on a cold day. However, his extensive experience offers a significant advantage and his ability to keep a cool head in testing times may be enough to see him triumph once again.
