*** We would like to take this oppurtunity to thank all of you that have donated to our cause. We all completed the half marathon yesterday in very respectable times! We have decided to increase our target to £3000 so please spread the word. This can only be done with your help!!!

The following times were achieved by the runners:

Adil Munir - 2hrs 05 mins

Rahid Salim - 2hrs 15 mins

Shahbaz Khokhar - 2hrs 20 mins***

Thanks for taking the time to visit our Just Giving page. As the title suggests, we will be taking part in a Half Marathon for the Orphans in Gaza.

A group of us have decided to take part in this years EDF Energy Birmingham World Half Marathon. The event takes place on the 11th October 2009 and has attracted the attention of over 15,000 runners. Most of us have never walked more than 100m, let alone run 13.1 miles!

We will be raising money for Darul Fadillah, a project run by Islamic Help. This project served as an orphanage for over 500 orphans and provided the community with educational facilities. However, on the 12th January 2009, Israeli missiles hit the centre, destroying all the hard work done over the years.

With your help, we can strive to ensure that the children of Gaza are provided with adequate housing and the opportunity to gain an education!  Please donate whatever amount you can to this cause. The money donated will go along way in rebuilding shelter and providing food and clothing in Rafah.

If you want anymore information on the charity or our selected project, visit Islamic Help @ http://www.islamichelp.org.uk/

Once again, donate generously and I hope we can surpass the target before we run the streets of Birmingham.

Spectators are welcome so do come down on the day and help us cross the finish line :)
