I'm running for Leeds General Hospital because in August my dad had a brain haemorrhage. He was otherwise fit and healthy and the cause was pure bad luck-they can strike anyone at anytime. 

He, and we, however were incredibly lucky in some respect. He fell ill in Yorkshire and so was taken to Leeds General Hospital where the staff were wonderful and caring and the equipment quite literally life saving. I can't express how valuable it was to have such supportive amazing doctors, nurses, porters etc at a time when it felt like my world was ending. They made us laugh when it didn't seem possible and seemed to know how we were feeling. My dad was treated like he was the only patient there. Staff were always positive, which later when I looked around the High Dependancy Unit and saw the severity of illness, seemed nothing short of a miracle.

Thanks to a lot of amazing care and some incredible equipment he is back to being my dad again. But it costs money to provide this care hence why me, a person who only runs to the off-licence is attempting the Norwich half marathon. Your money will help carry on pulling people through. Only two in three people survive a brain haemorrhage, and half of those will be physically or mentally injured as a result. Those figures can change for the better.
