Story

Back in November 2015, after just starting the final year of university, myself and my peers were given the shocking and extremely sad news that one of our course members had passed away.

At the young age of 20, Micheal was living his dream working in Dubai doing what he loved. We were all so pleased for him, living the dream before even graduating while we were in the just as hot and sunny wales still in the classroom. We couldn't wait for him to come back and hear his stories and to work alongside a great technician. Diabetes defeated him before we got that chance. Before Micheal passed, I was one of many that did not understand the full effects of Diabetes and how serious it can be. Now I am fully aware and I hate the fact that it took the loss of a friend to learn.

The Micheal Lewis Foundation has been setup to raise awareness for Diabetes as like me, there are many that don't know, but also to raise money for Diabetes, all in Micheal's name. I chose to run the half marathon for the second time but this time, supporting the foundation. Any donations you can make I would be extremely appreciative and as would the foundation and Mike's family. Donations go straight to Diabetes UK and don't forget to add Gift Aid.

Thanks,

#livelikemike
