Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Each year in the UK over 6,500 babies die just before, during or soon after birth. That’s 17 babies every day.
On Christmas Day 2013 our worst nighmare as a parent came true. Our Little boy Conner James was born sleeping. Words cannot describe our loss but we found strength through the SANDS charity who helped us understand and cope with our loss.
I'm a keen climber and runner having run ultramarathons and both my wife Katie and I had so many plans for our llittle boy to share in our outdoor escapades. So in memory of Conner I'm trekking to Everest base camp for two weeks then at an altitude of 5364m (17,598ft) I'm running a marathon (26.2 miles) from Everest Base Camp to Namche Bazaar.
The money raised will help Sands support other parents and family members who like us have lost the most precious thing to them, thier baby. It will also enable them to continue the much needed research into stillbirth so maybe one day we will understand and hopefully reduce stillbirth.
Please, please please give, no matter how little it helps a lot
