Please sponsor me to do the great south run to support the ME research UK, a charity dedicated to funding high quality biomedical research into the neurological condition ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis).

 

This charity is very important to me as a member of my family has suffered from this condition for over 3 years.

 

250,000 people in UK suffer with ME and approximately 25% of them are so debilitated that they are either house-bound or bed-bound. This serious, long-term condition not only causes great suffering to the individuals affected but it also has a significant impact upon daily life for the family and friends who help care for sufferers. No effective treatments are available to sufferers in the UK and the only way this serious problem will be tackled is through funding good quality research, hence the choice of charity. Aswell as the effect upon family and friends there is also a huge impact upon the economy (billions of pounds a year!) which is no surprise considering the number of people that are unable to work. 

 

 I've been training for this event for a while now and when I finally stumble over the finishing line I will be very greatful for your donations.
